Why not ease the stress that you , your team members, and your anxious, frightened, or difficult-to-handle patients feel? Learn how to make veterinary visits, examinations, procedures, and hospitalizations easier for everyone by using gentle control handling, behavior modification and management, and environmental enrichment.
Through lecture, video and live animal demonstrations, photos, and hands-on work with animal models you’ll learn the many benefits of Fear Free℠ vet visits. You’ll be introduced to gentle control—a central component of a Fear Free veterinary experience. We’ll discuss behavior modification techniques and interaction strategies to improve patient cooperation. You’ll receive a curriculum for teaching preventive and issue-specific training classes or private lessons that will prepare pets for fearless vet visits. You’ll learn how to train animals to present themselves for services such as ear examinations and nail trims and procedures suceh as venipuncture and vaccination. We’ll present stress reduction and enrichment tactics for veterinary care in the hospital and at home. We’ll explore how to identify and address fear, including when to use medications and which drugs may be indicated in various situations.
